“Team Georgia” Defeats New Jersey To Win The Inaugural Golden Goal Lacrosse Tournament.


In a rare occurrence a lacrosse trophy is headed south after the Bagataway Lacrosse U15 “Team Georgia” defeated a strong New Jersey Lacrosse Academy team 7-6 in sudden death overtime to win the inaugural “Golden Goal” Lacrosse Tournament in Lake George New York (www.goldengoallacrosse.com ).

Coach Tom Debole’s team defeated teams from Philadelphia, New Hampshire, Shenandoah NY and Metro Albany NY before facing the New Jersey Lacrosse Academy in the “Golden Goal” championship.

Gwinnett was represented by seven players. Left to right in photo Alex Squires, Gary Heusel, Tanner Botts, Cory Hall, Joshua Lowery, Tyler Botts and Conner Squires. The Squires boys will attend Collins Hill next year and the remaining boys will play for Peachtree Ridge.
